GEO contributes to NOAA State of the Climate report 2017

NOAA just released the State of the Climate report 2017, the authoritative annual summary of the global climate published as a supplement to the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society. The report relveals that 2017 was the third-warmest year on record, and had record-high sea level. 

Worldwide, the report received again a lot of media attention, including:

Page S2, S6, and S35 and following of the report highlight the global soil moisture conditions in 2017 with respect to their historical context. The soil moisture datasets were produced and analysed by TU Wien-GEO as part of the ESA Climate Change Inititiative and Copernicus Climate Change Service.
